Harbor Shores has proudly supported the military for the last 30 years. We are a TLA approved hotel and welcome all military personnel.

TLA (temporary lodging allowance) is a partial reimbursement of your expenses for lodging and meals for up to 60 days during your change of station in and out of Hawaii.

You can qualify for TLA if you are:

‣Active duty, report without your family and cannot be lodged in the BEQ/BOQ

‣ Active duty reporting with your family

You must apply for TLA at your permanent duty station’s Housing Office within 72 hours of arriving to Hawaii. TLA is usually given for the first 10 days and can be renewed in 10-day increments up to 60 days. You will need to provide proof that you have been looking for housing.

The amount of the TLA depends on the size of your family and the type of lodging (with or without kitchen). TLA reimbursements are based on your rank and size of your family.

TLA may also be approved for up to two days prior to your departure from Hawaii if you were living on base.
